Buxhall Tea Room

The first Tea Room event took place in Buxhall Village Hall on Saturday 25 March 2023 alongside the pop-up Body Shop. Since July 2023 it has become a permanent monthly

event and from the start of 2025 has had over 70 visitors each month

The Tea Room is organised by the Buxhall Village Hall Management Committee and is entirely staffed by volunteers, who give up their time every month either to help serve and clear up, or to produce a range of home-made sweet and savoury delights to sell.

These monthly events offer the opportunity for members of the Buxhall and district community across the entire age range to come together and socialise over a hot drink (or cold soft drink), a light lunch and of course, cake!

These occasions not only play an important role in enhancing the community spirit but also highlighting the importance of the Village Hall as the central hub and a major asset of the village.

The Buxhall Village Hall Management Committee was successful in being awarded the Mid Suffolk Living Well in Winter Grant for the Tea Room in 2023. Money from the grant was used to purchase 12 new small folding tables, durable wipe-clean tablecloths and a selection of table top games to engage our ‘patrons’ in a range of social activities should they wish to stay longer at the Tea Room.

The Tea Room always loves to welcome new volunteers who can choose how they’d like to help out and for how long or how little! No interview or qualifications are needed – only willingness, a cheery smile and an interest to ‘join in’. Tempted?
