Buxhall Village Show 2026

Buxhall Community Council would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this annual quintessential event.

  • The entrants, for continuing to surprise us with their range of talents across the whole programme.

  • The judges who, thanks to the exhibitors, always have challenging decisions to make.

  • Buxhall WI providing the refreshments and donating the takings to the Village Hall funds.

  • Volunteers running the raffle and those donating raffle prizes.

  • Sally Gooch for her pop-up composting exhibition and sharing her expertise.

  • Our visitors during the afternoon, particularly those who contributed along with Mim to making the auction such a cheerful end to the afternoon.

The long, hot, dry summer inevitably impacted on the number of produce entries but didn’t stop our stalwart gardeners and allotment holders exhibiting some quality produce, particularly in the ‘specimen produce’ classes such as grapes and pumpkin.

We had 35 entries and 135 exhibits across all sections of the programme with Sally Gooch from Great Finborough awarded the overall winner for a second year and Keith Proctor from Buxhall overall runner-up.

The children’s challenge cup was awarded to Leila-Mae Mitchell for her combined successes across the whole programme. It is a delight to see several children entering a range of sections outside of the children’s classes and also providing strong competition for the adults.
